The Complexities of the Human Body

fatloss4idiotsThe human anatomy is nothing short of a miracle, and it is easy to see why some individuals devote their entire life to studying it. It is an extremely complicated organism in which BILLIONS of individual machine-like cells collaborate with each other, on a constant basis, to form a single living being that is capable of doing amazing things. Even more mind boggling is the fact that EACH cell in our body (remember there are billions)… EACH ONE has an internal system strung together by equally complex chemical and cellular corroborations.

If the human body is so complex, then what makes you think there are solutions to it’s problems that can be done with ease? Your metabolism is the series of chemical reactions responsible for turning your food into energy. If your metabolism is not as effective as it should be then the calories that your body consumes will be stored in fat cells, rather than converted into energy. Your metabolism is controlled by hormones that can be affected by a multitude of things, but that are mostly affected by your diet and stress levels.

In order to get your body working the way it was meant to work, it needs to have all of the essential vitamins and minerals needed to do so. To get your natural levels back to where they should be you should eat a diet that is high in nutrition, and drink lots of water (filtered). Our bodies are mostly made of water. Drinking lots of water will cleanse your system and promote well balanced hormones. Be careful not to drink too much water though because it can wash the nutrients out of your blood. While this is rare and takes A LOT of water to do, it should be noted that drinking absurd amounts of water is not the best thing to do. Anywhere from 7-20 glasses of water per day is a good amount to drink. If you drink 20 glasses or more make sure you eat enough nutrition that day to compensate for all of the liquids you are pumping into your blood stream.

Worse come to worse you will be urinating very frequently, the plus side is you’ll be fresh and clean on the inside. Another good tip is to get a colon cleanse. Those of you who don’t know what that is may be thinking “no way ..I don’t do enemas” . Don’t worry it’s not an enema, it’s just a juice that you drink that cleans out your system, that’s all. A colon cleanse alone can help you lose 10-15 pounds in a week, just by getting rid of all the gunk that has built up in your colon.

So…. What Is A Metabolism?

fatloss4idiotsYour metabolism simply describes how well your body converts calories into energy. If your metabolism is slow then your body will store more calories and they will eventually be converted into fat cells. If your metabolism is fast then your body will convert more calories into usable energy. ALL diets center around speeding up the metabolism in order to help the body burn fat quickly. If your body stores most of the calories it consumes (slow metabolism) then you will have a much harder time trying to get rid of those calories before they show up in your belly fat.

Fortunate for you, a slow metabolism can be sped up at any given time, and you are not stuck with this “curse” in any way. Your metabolism is controlled by the bodies hormones, which are mostly controlled by your diet and stress levels. By changing your diet you can change the way your metabolism behaves and you can force your body to burn fat while you sleep. Another way to boost your metabolism is by exercising. This will build muscle. Muscle needs calories to sustain itself, therefore any calories that you consume are more likely to be converted into energy for your muscles. Even if you haven’t consumed any calories, your body will use the existing fat cells as energy, thereby burning fat without effort.

The key mistake with the low carb diets is that they are not considering how the metabolism works. If you cut your caloric intake by a certain amount, then your body automatically adjusts accordingly and it will limit it’s calorie conversion to that same degree. So if you start consuming only 1000 calories a day, then your body will start converting less than that automatically. There are no set amounts that your body chooses to convert, all reactions are relevant to what you do to cause the reaction. That’s why dieting with high nutrition and in many meals throughout the day works. By eating many small nutritional snacks throughout the day, instead of meals, you’ll be forcing your bodies metabolism to work overtime. Eventually after a short while this will boost your metabolism and help you lose weight.

Lose Fat… NOT Nutrition

fatloss4idiotsMost of the time when people think of a diet, they automatically assume that starving themselves is part of the regimen. However that could not be further from the truth. You see, when you deprive your body of the crucial nutrients that it needs, your fat cells actually go into a sort of “survival mode” and your metabolism SLOWS down, to help you preserve energy and nutrients.

After a couple of days of your metabolism halting, your body then starts to devour itself to compensate for the lack of nutrients. It is then you will notice that you ARE losing some weight.. however you will also notice dark circles under your eyes, nausea, dizziness, grouchiness and just a general feeling of illness.

So how do you lose weight, without losing the vital nutrition your body needs? The answer is really quite simple. The key is dietary PLANNING. You need to plan a diet that is well balanced in vitamins and minerals, and try to include ALL of the nutrients your body needs to function correctly, in moderate  amounts.  The truth is, being overweight is mostly caused by vitamin deficiencies that are preventing your bodies metabolism from working the way it should. That is why it’s so hard for some people to lose weight, even after months of exercise, because they have not yet balanced their metabolism. The ONLY type of food you want to consume is nutrient rich food, and only in moderate amounts. This will help your body repair itself in every way imaginable, and in the process you will lose weight the RIGHT way.

So what are some foods that you should include in this new balanced diet of yours? Well, surprisingly the best food for weight loss is NOT the pre-packaged “diet” food in your grocers freezer. The most nutrient rich diet foods are all natural, or “organic” foods. There is a reason why parents tell their children to eat their fruits and vegetables to build a strong healthy body.

A broad outline of any good diet would consist of vegetables, fruits (dried and fresh), nuts, whole grains, yogurts, chicken and fish. Make sure you eat only enough to fill you up for the time being, eating small meals through out the day, rather three large ones.  Water is preferable over juices and sodas of course.

Hopefully I have given you a slight idea of the basics of dieting the correct way.

Good Carb, Bad Carb

fatloss4idiotsSome of the most famous diets of all time have based their theories on the use of  low carbohydrate diets. The main point in these diets is to control the intake of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the equivalent to your bodies fuel cells. They are responsible for giving you energy and boosting or slowing down you metabolism. Carbohydrates are also crucial to the sustenance of most of your organs. While carbs are good in that sense, like everything, there is another side to them.

While there are really no carbs that are universally bad, there are carbs that would be bad for most of us if ingested regularly. Generally speaking, bad carbs refer to carbs that are contained in foods that are high in sugar or refined flour, which can be digested quickly and then turned into fat very fast. The reason for this is because the glut in carbohydrates causes the bodies insulin to boost, which causes the body to store the carbohydrates as fat cells, instead of using them for energy. An example of bad carbs would be the carbs contained in potato chips or hamburgers.

Good carbs generally have more nutrients in them than “bad” carbs, and they usually are converted into energy rather than fat because of their molecular composition and their effect on the digestive system. A good example of good carbs would be carbs that are contained in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.   These foods not only tend to have the “good” carbs but they are also higher in vitamins, minerals and fiber. While most diets advocate the use of good carbs over bad carbs, there are still many diets out there that advise the avoidance of all carbs completely.

The toughest decision for people to make when they first start dieting is usually which diet to try first.

Common Weight Loss Mistakes

fatloss4idiotsThe number one reason people quit their diet and exercise regimen, is because of frustration caused by cravings for good food and hours of exercise with seemingly no results. Shedding body fat is often not that easy of a task, and not everyone has the willpower needed to accomplish this. It seems like half the world is trying to lose weight, and a quarter of the world is looking for a miracle to do so.  Instead of waiting on a wonder drug or a 19.99 ab-a-ma-jiggie from an infomercial, why not take the steps needed to make things happen the right way. If you are able to avoid the following common mistakes that people make, you will find it twice as easy to lose weight effectively WHILE STAYING HEALTHY.

Under-Eating

Many times people misunderstand what it means to diet. A diet is not the same as fasting, you ARE supposed to eat when you are dieting. Do not deprive yourself of crucial nutrients. The purpose of dieting is not to stop eating, but to change the WAY you eat. In fact, you can even treat yourself every once in a while, but only in small amounts. It would be better for you to eat six or seven small snacks throughout the day, than to hold off from eating all day only to stuff your face at the end of the day, all in the name of a “diet”. I’m not saying to eat junk food all day either, I’m simply saying to eat small nutritious snacks throughout the day, and to drink lots of water. STAY AWAY from any form of junk food, or foods that are high in trans-fat and calories. If you eat foods that are high in calories you will have to exercise twice as hard to burn them, before they are deposited in fat cells. Don’t make things harder than they should be. That brings us to our next common mistake.

Over-Training

Usually when you set out on your journey to losing those extra pounds, you are told that is all about willpower, and to try your hardest. Many people take those words of advice and become way too aggressive with their exercises. Remember this golden rule: Your body needs twice as much rest as it does exercise, in order for your muscles to recuperate and build. Building muscles burns fat, if you aren’t getting enough rest, you won’t build muscle. It’s as simple as that. Combining under-eating with over-training is a recipe for disaster, you could wind up in the hospital dehydrated, hooked up to IV’s. The amount of things that could happen to you if you take your exercise too far, without the proper rest and nutrients, are to numerous to name in a single paragraph. Trust me, you don’t want to be laying on the floor with a killer cramp in your hamstring, and a monstrous headache, all because you didn’t get enough rest and didn’t eat right.

I myself have been guilty of making these mistakes, and I can tell you first hand how simple these mistakes are to make. Hopefully you will take what you have learned here and use it to make your weight loss regimen all that it can be.

Calories?

fatloss4idiotsMany diets encourage users to count the amount of calories they intake on a daily or weekly basis.

However, a lot of people are confused about what exactly a calorie is. So I’ve decided to write this article to explain what calories are and how they effect your diet.

A calorie is not like a carb or a vitamin or any other physical element. In fact, it is not a physical element at all, it is simply an energy measurement.  If a meal has a lot of calories that simply means it is high in energy. One calorie is equivalent to the amount of energy it takes to raise one kilogram of water by one degree Celsius. Everything that you do requires the burning of calories to fuel your actions. Everything from a wiggle of your toes to a sniff of your nose requires energy to be expended. When you don’t burn as many calories as you are consuming in your meals, then the excess calories are stored into fat cells.

Calories play a crucial role in balancing your diet and exercise regimens. If you are able to calculate how many calories you’re taking in, then you will know how many you need to burn to keep fat from being stored, and more importantly to burn existing fat. That is why it is so important to your diet.

Once you have a good knowledge of calories, you can shop for the right foods and make adjustments to your exercises as needed. You can gage how much endurance you may have on any given day based on the calories you have consumed within the past day or so. If you only ate yogurt and a sandwich at 8AM, and you try to exercise hard at 3PM with no other food in your stomach, you can bet you will be exhausted very easily. You really don’t need to know about calories to know that, the concept is the same though, calories are just a way to accurately depict what you should be doing in your diet and exercise by measuring your energy intake.

Calories are just one of the factors to consider when practicing a good diet and exercise regimen.

The Pros and Cons of the Fat Loss 4 Idiots Program

fatloss4idiots

Do you want to learn more about the very popular Fat Loss 4 Idiots weight loss program? The thing I found out personally about the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program is that you can shed pounds by simply following a diet. You aren’t required to exercise. You’ve probably been told that it is not possible to lose weight without exercising regularly, but it is highly likely that the same people who told you this have yet to discover the Idiot Proof Diet plan. With that said, here is a look at the pros and cons of this online diet.

So what is so special about this program that makes it work for nearly everyone who tries it?

The special thing about Fat Loss 4 Idiots that makes it different from the other online diet programs is their calorie shifting method.

Most people know all about the low calorie diets that are popular. The truth is that low calorie diets usually only work for a few weeks. During the first few weeks of these programs you will lose some weight, and then you will probably gain back all of the weight you tried so hard to lose. Why does this happen so regularly? The human body conserves its energy as fat. If something looks like it might threaten our fat deposits, the body will slow down our metabolism. When our metabolism is slow, our ability to burn fat is greatly impaired.

On the flip side of this problem is the high calorie problem. When you eat a lot of foods that are high in calories, your metabolism isn’t able to burn all of the calories as quickly as you take them in. While some of the calories do get converted to energy, the rest of the calories are stored in your body’s fat cells.

The shifting calorie method is a method of nutrition in which you are required to eat a variety of foods based on each food’s calorie count. You eat a variety of both low calorie foods and high calorie foods in every meal. By doing this, your body will keep your metabolism rate up. Another plus to the Fat Loss 4 Idiots program is that, instead of two large meals, you eat four smaller meals every day.

The Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet plan has disadvantages as well as advantages. The major advantage to this program is that you aren’t required to purchase any special foods or diet supplements in order to lose weight. With this program you get to eat regular foods–you just have to make sure that you regulate the amount of calories you intake each day.

The main disadvantage of the program is that it doesn’t help you to build or tone your muscles. Leaner muscles help keep the weight loss process stay speedy. The program does not require exercise, but it is a good idea to do at least get some cardiovascular exercise a few times each week. You will be able to lose weight with Fat Loss 4 Idiots, but exercise can help speed the process along! It can be as simple as going for walks 3-4 times a week. It can really multiply your results.
